Writing Samples

Brendan has penned several projects, including theater, movies, series and music. Previously hosted samples have been removed due to the increase of A.I. technologies unethically scrapping websites, however Brendan is constantly exploring his voice through spec screenplays and treatments and happily shares pages by request. He’s also been commissioned to write to prompt and/or pitch and is happy to discuss your vision.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • I’ve been lucky to work on over 100 films and tv shows in a variety of genres and niches; but I’m commonly recognized for being the “Staples Guy” in commercials, Grandpa Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place, a lot of early youtube viral series/sketches and the pineapple hat strike captain.

  • I have different representatives for different categories of work listed on this page. Please contact them with the most complete information regarding your project, timeline and budget. You can also complete the form at the bottom of this page to reach me directly.

  • I’ve produced my own projects for over twenty years and occasionally help bring other people’s stories to life, but solely as a vehicle for me to appear in a starring role or to access a budget/network beyond my own capability. I do not and cannot help you raise capital or financing (if I could, I’d be using it for my next project :)

  • I am a North Carolina native and third generation Irish-Yugoslavian. As a classically trained actor, I studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, The Lee Strasberg Institute, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and The Groundlings in Los Angeles. I began performing in live theatre and musicals in New York and Regional playhouses. Appearances in independent films and early youtube series helped me work my way into larger film and television roles.

  • Since 2020, I’ve pioneered live theatre in virtual reality all over the world, performing and presenting over 50 live projects. Imagine audiences wearing a virtual reality headset to join an actor inside a 3D environment, like a mashup of video games, immersive theatre, improvisation and escape rooms. [MORE]

  • My motto is “Do The Thing, Make The Thing.” The majority of my opportunities have been self-generated with a few friends on nights and weekends and occasionally maxing out my credit card. If you live in the USA, there are regional playhouses, film commissions and student film programs in every state. I got started in community theatre, student films, and background work. To join both unions, I accrued waivers and hours over several years. You just have to start and trust your time and talent. If you’re outside of the USA, many countries have incredible training institutions and arts grants for early-stage projects and creators. Start in your own backyard and I have no doubt in a few years time, I’ll be asking if you can hire me.
