🍍 S O L I D A R I T Y

The day after the WGA went on strike, I was on the line showing my support and began frequenting various studio lots. I was honored to be referred by one of my regular WGA Strike Captains for SAG-AFTRA’s organizing efforts and am proud to serve my union! #SAGAFTRAstrong

“There are no small parts” and there are no small contributions. Whatever ways you can turn out for SAG-AFTRA and the WGA helps our cause (in-person, on social media, phone banking, etc), but I’d be especially grateful to have you join me on the line at Paramount! This unofficial page is just a reference for meeting up with me.

+ Where do I meet you?
We usually report to the address above (base camp) and are assigned to the gate or entrance where we are most needed. When you arrive you can ask other strike captains what gate I'm assigned to and come join me.

Street Parking:
•5632 Melrose Avenue, 7 min. walk to Picket
•600 N. Larchmont Blvd, 9 min walk to Picket
•6201 Santa Monica Blvd, 23 min walk to Picket

• 209 N. Larchmont Blvd., 27 min walk to Picket
• 959 Seward Street, 35 min. walk to Picket ($22/11 hrs)

Public Transit: We encourage public transportation. To find routes, select the address; it will take you to Google Maps, which has options for both Metro and bus lines.
+ What do I need to bring?
You don't need to bring anything, but I recommend suncreen, a hat, sunglasses, water bottle, and either a SAG-AFTRA or snarky tee shirt. Water, sunscreen, signs and snacks are typically available on-site, if needed.
+ What do we do on the picket line?
There's a lot of good guidance on the SAG-AFTRA websites below, but simply put, we are not here to fight or disrupt individuals. We are picketing specific employers at specific times to be a polite, yet persistent reminder that we have not been offered a fair deal... and that we are ready to work when they meet our reasonable demands.

Our power is our presence as the community becomes increasingly aware of our dedication to this process and our respect of our sibling unions and neighbors. This is a historic moment and meeting that moment is half the battle.

The message is clear: We aren't on vacation or lounging at home. We are literally right outside, ready to report to set the moment we're given a fair contract. When you join, we'll be pacing back and forth across our assigned gate, waving signs, shouting playful chants, encouraging driversby to honk, and respectfully observing those who enter and exit the premises.

+ Are there restrooms?
We are a healthy walk from a few establishments to take a break. Please be respectful and remember you are a member of the general public. Classy move to also show your patronage while using these facilities.
• Astro Burger, 5601 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038, 0.1 miles from picket
•Hollywood Forever (behind Cathedral Mausoleum), 6000 Santa Monica Blvd, 0.3 miles from Picket
•Pavillion’s, 727 Vine Street, 0.5 miles from Picket
•CVS, 832 Lillian Way, 0.6 miles from Picket
•Smart & Final, 939 N Western Avenue, 1.0 miles from Picket

+ What if I can't come?
There are picket lines at most studio lots in most major cities and I am grateful to have your support wherever is convenience for you! Send me a photo from the line!

There are many other ways to support from afar! See the resources below for social media kits, donation links and official messaging to help spread the word that entertainers want a fair contract to participate in the value they create.

Especially consider donating to the Entertainment Community Fund that supports any and all workers impacted by the ongoing strikes, not just writers and actors.

+ Does a strike really help anything?
To be clear - no one wants a strike. Being on-set is my favorite place in the world and I love my job. However, actors and writers have not participated in the value they create since Big Streaming changed the business model of Hollywood; working and auditioning conditions are unsustainable; and new technologies like artificial intelligence are already being abused to “train” on our video and audio without consent or compensation.

At the end of the day, these are basic workers rights issues and we’re joining a growing movement across industries to demand a stable career in the face of corporate greed. This is a historic moment for our union to stand united.

The last time the WGA and SAG-AFTRA stood united, it prompted the creation of not only our Residual payment system, but our health benefits. Our fight today is for the future of the industry and the artists of tomorrow who deserve a sustainable careeer.

+ Are you allowed to work?
This strike is for SAG-AFTRA's Television and Theatrical contract with the AMPTP. There are many other types of union work that are still ongoing - commercials, voiceover, interactive, S.P.A. passion projects, like podcasts and webseries. I would be delighted to be in your approved union project and if you have any questions, just ask!
